Once a year Varanasi does something no other city can: every ghat along the river is lit with lakhs of diyas, and for one night the whole riverfront glows. That is Dev Deepawali, and pictures genuinely do not do it justice. It falls on 24 November 2026, and Safar Trails has put together a 3 days / 2 nights package from ₹11,999 per person so you are not booking hotels, cabs and boats separately in the busiest week of the year. Two nights in a hotel close to the ghats, a private cab for your pickup, drop and sightseeing, Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, and a boat on the river on Dev Deepawali night itself — which is the part everyone books the trip for.
24 November 2026. It falls on Kartik Purnima, fifteen days after Diwali, and it is one night only — the trip is built around being in Varanasi on that evening.
Two nights' hotel stay near the ghats with daily breakfast, a private cab for your pickup, drop and local sightseeing, the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, and a boat on the river on Dev Deepawali night. Flights and trains to Varanasi, lunch and dinner, temple entry fees and personal spending are not included.
Yes, and it is the reason to book early. On that one night boats are the scarcest thing in the city and the rates asked at the ghat go through the roof. Yours is arranged in advance as part of the package.
As early as you can. Hotels near the ghats and boats for Dev Deepawali night both sell out well before the date, and what is left in the last week is expensive and far from the river. Booking early is what keeps this trip at ₹11,999.
No — flights and train tickets to and from Varanasi are yours to book. Everything from the airport or station onwards is ours. If you would like us to quote the tickets as well, tell us where you are starting from.
Yes. The hotel category, the number of nights and the sightseeing can all be adjusted — the one fixed point is being on the river on Dev Deepawali night. Tell us what you would rather do and we will quote it before you pay anything.
Largely yes, with one caution: Dev Deepawali night brings very large crowds to the ghats, and the lanes around Kashi Vishwanath are narrow and busy. The boat means you watch the lit ghats from the water rather than from inside the crowd, which is the easier way to see it. Tell us if anyone in the group has trouble with steps and we will plan around it.
