Day-wise itinerary
Day 1 — Leh Arrival & Mandatory Acclimatization (Leh Town): Land at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh (11,562 ft). Transfer to your hotel. Strict complete rest for the entire day to acclimatize to high altitude. Evening gentle walk to Leh Main Market.
Day 2 — Sham Valley: Magnetic Hill, Sangam & Hall of Fame (Sham Valley & Leh): Excursion along the Indus River: experience the optical illusion at Magnetic Hill, witness the confluence (Sangam) of turquoise Indus and muddy Zanskar rivers, and visit the Hall of Fame war museum.
Day 3 — Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (17,982 ft) (Nubra Valley (Hunder / Diskit)): Scale one of the highest motorable passes on earth — Khardung La. Descend into the picturesque Nubra Valley. Visit the 106-ft Maitreya Buddha at Diskit Monastery and ride double-humped camels in Hunder Dunes.
Day 4 — Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso via Shyok River Route (Pangong Tso (Spangmik)): Drive along the rugged, scenic Shyok River gorge directly to Pangong Tso. Arrive at the high-altitude lake as its waters transition between turquoise, royal blue, and indigo. Stargaze under zero light pollution.
Day 5 — Pangong Sunrise & Return to Leh via Chang La Pass (Leh via Chang La): Witness an unforgettable sunrise reflecting off Pangong Lake. Journey back to Leh crossing Chang La Pass (17,590 ft). Visit the majestic 12-storey Thiksey Monastery on the return.
